Its been great to see Henry develop through the classes. We started before he could walk and now he loves running around and joining in all the songs. He loves singing along with the CD at home and showing his daddy the actions too!! Nicola

I think you have a wonderful approach and offer a wonderful experience – for Tara especially it helped her overcome some of her shyness and has been a great part of their early lives. Thank you! Caroline

DSC_6434Mish Mash Music is brilliant! Ruth is a great musician and wonderful with children. I love the classes because Ruth plays a variety of instruments rather than using a CD, and the children have the opportunity to try out lots of instruments themselves. The songs are catchy and my daughter loves it when I sing them at home! I cannot recommend this class highly enough. Thanks, Sophie

Absolutely loved the classes & I am really going to miss it, as it has become part of my life as a mother!  Thank you Ruth. Celia

The long term impact on Jamie is really interesting in terms of his rhythmic ability, ear for music and fascination with drums!! This is definitely attributable to your combination of music, rhythm and fun! Katharine

If I am blessed with another child I will signing up again as soon as they are born! Jane

Mish Mash is truly a very special music group and those kids who come along are very lucky to benefit from your creativity, energy and patience Ruth. Zara and family

Watching my son grow in confidence as he has learned the songs and got to know the other members of the group has been wonderful. In all, a brilliant music class! Thank you Ruth!

Mish Mash music is by far the best music class we’ve been to. Charlie thoroughly enjoys the fun, relaxed & inventive classes with the catchy songs, actions and wide range of instruments.  We sing the songs and do the actions at home and in the car; Smelly Welly Poo Poo has helped make nappy changing a far less traumatic experience for Charlie and has therefore made my life much easier – thank you! Jenn

We have loved the Mish Mash classes – it’s definitely the highlight of our week! My son loves playing with all the different instruments and hearing them being played. It’s very refreshing to attend a music class which uses live music!! We always play the CD at home and Oliver now recognises the songs and tries to copy my actions. It’s helped with his confidence too. But most of all it’s developing his love for music from such a young age and he enjoys the sessions so much. Thank you Ruth! Stephen

Mish Mash is not just a baby music class; it is a place where parents, carers and children come together to make music together. Ruth teaches the songs, playing a live guitar; the children and their carers make the rest of the music with the plentiful instruments, puppets and play materials. Everyone is free to choose their level of participation; I have had happy singing days, and other days when I have preferred just to watch. Ruth’s skill in leadership is that everyone feels welcome and included. Sophie P

Ruth sings without any backing tape, plays all her own instruments, and has written many of the songs. Our family favourites include the Welly Boot WashDo My Ears Look Funny? (Yes they do), and who could forget the classicSmelly Welly Poo Poo? The classes are conveniently situated by Verulamium Park, so on a non-rainy day everyone moves to the park after the class, which means parents and children can get to know each other quite well. It’s a testament to Ruth that I do know the other parents so well – because we all return term after term. That says it all doesn’t it? I can’t really do justice in a review to how brilliant the classes are – my daughter and son both love Ruth, and she’s helped them to have a great introduction to music. It’s such a pleasure to go along and be part of Mish Mash world. Clare

We all love going to Mish Mash. We often sing the songs in the car or at home and we really do know a song about everything we do! Ruth has written songs for every occasion from trees blowing in the wind, jumping in puddles and smelly nappies (a hot favourite). Both of my children look forward to the class and will dance, sing, play instruments (or run about) as the mood takes them. For me the best thing about the class is the original music that is played live, no CD’s or over familiar nursery rhymes and I also love the chance to have a good old sing myself. An all round great class. Gina

He’s really enjoyed it,  as have our various nannies who always initially go ‘oh my god, I’ve got to join in a music class’ but then when they meet you and see the class they all have fun too. If we have any more we’ll be signing them up early for Mish Mash. Best wishes Lucy
